Selba Jean Stuart, age 74, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2018.

She was born on August 16, 1943, in DeQueen, the daughter of Raymond F. Lacefield and Artie D. Coffman Lacefield. On November 23, 1960, she was married to James R. “Jim” Stuart who preceded her in death in July of 2010. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Bryan Stuart; and her parents.

Selba was a Christian and faithful member of The Church in Marshall until her health would no longer permit her attendance. By trade, she was a skilled bookkeeper and secretary. However, her greatest work was accomplished in the home as mother and grandmother. Selba was a member of the Amity Study Club in Atlanta, Texas. She enjoyed painting, flower gardening and bass fishing with her husband.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Joey Boyd of Lake Jackson, Texas and Stacey and Glenn Elliott of Guyton, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Lynn, Corri, Matthew, Bailey, Tyler, Morgan, Danielle, Jake, Coleman and Jessica; eleven great-grandchildren with another great-granddaughter on the way; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Phyllis Lacefield of Newhope, and Jack and Gayla Lacefield of Nashville; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold and Mary Stuart, Janice and Fred Davis and Beth and John Pierce; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.

Interment will follow in Old Nashville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Elliott, Jake Elliott, Matthew James, Tyler Stuart, Coleman Stuart, and John Pierce.

Honorary pallbearer will be Joey Boyd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in loving memory of our beloved Selba to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
