Raymond E. Lovelace, Sr., age 78, resident of Hot Springs, Arkansas and boyhood home of Florence, Alabama died Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
He was born on December 2, 1938 in Florence, Alabama, the son of James Lovelace and Exa Garrett Lovelace. On November 15, 1959, he married Janette Walley. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Elaine Cox and Sarah Lovelace.
Raymond was a member of Trinity Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas where he was actively involved on the worship team. He graduated from Central High School in Florence, Alabama and was retired from Reynolds Metal Company. Raymond was an avid Bama fan and enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting, but his greatest passion was his family and his music.
He is survived by his wife Janette Lovelace; one son, Ray (Terri) Lovelace, Jr.; two daughters, Phyllis Lovelace and Sonya (Jeff) Crumpton; four grandchildren, Lauren Britton, Shelby Neeve, Britten Lovelace and Kyle Lovelace; one great-grandson, Anden Ray Britton; three brothers; James (LouAnn) Lovelace, Donnie (Linda) Lovelace, Bobby (Willie) Lovelace; and two sisters, Virginia (Billy) West and Peggy Jones; also by nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Raymond will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church 11025 Co Rd 15, Florence, AL 35633 with Harry Wallace officiating. All friends and family are invited to attend.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. K. Arnaoutakis of UAMS Cancer Institute, Dr. Gregory Whorton, David W. Killen, Jay Lovelace, Tony Cox, Billy Cox, Wade West, Phillip West, Danny West, Keith West, Wayne Lovelace and Michael Lovelace.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Raymond Lovelace Family and the Jimmy Lovelace Family.
