H.E. “Bud” Davenport, age 90, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, May 10, 2018.
He was born on June 28, 1927 in Riverside, California, the son of Harold Davenport and Winifred Lucille Myers Davenport. He met his wife, Willa, on a ferry named “Columbia” in Alaska and they were married in June 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one brother, Donald E. Davenport; and one sister, Doris May Casem.
A United States Army and Air Force veteran, Bud was a retired Chief Purser for the Alaskan Marine Highway. He was a long-time member of the V.F.W., Elks Club, Optimist Club and the American Legion.
He is survived by two sisters, Muriel L. Ulmer of Kenai, Alaska and Dorothy Adair Torres of Riverside, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Military honors will be provided by the Thaddeus H. Caraway, V.F.W. Post #2278 Honor Guard and the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
